Watch out for quotes that are a lot lower than those provided by other auto moving services. Find out if there are any hidden charges involved.
If you opt for door-to-door service, find out if a large moving truck will be able to get to your home. A large car transport truck may not be able to access your home due to government regulations, overhead wires, trees, narrow lanes, etc. If this happens, you may have to deliver your vehicle at a more accessible place.
Moving your car in an enclosed car transport truck will cost more than sending it in an open truck. You can consider using enclosed auto transport if you are moving an expensive vehicle that needs added protection.
Brokers may give you better rates than those offered by auto moving companies when you approach them directly. This is because brokers are able to find out about empty spaces on trucks and to book them at highly discounted rates.
Have the car washed and check it for dents, scratches, and other deterioration. Be present at the time of delivery and pick up. The car will be inspected for pre-existing damage by the driver of the truck when it is picked up.
Inspect your car carefully at
the time of delivery and report any damage that may have occurred in
transit. Mention the damage on the Bill of Lading and ask the driver to
verify it by signing. Report the damage to the automobile transport
company as soon as possible.
